About Us
Part of the provincial ECIP network, the SECPSD Early Learning program supports children (birth to 5yrs) who are experiencing developmental delays or who are at risk to experience developmental delays.
Who are our Early Learning Coaches?
- certified classroom teachers with specialized experience and knowledge of teaching and learning in the early years.
- employees of the SECPSD with experience teaching in SECPSD schools.
- dedicated to supporting young children and their families.
- understand the specialized knowledge and experience that families have regarding their children and their unique context.
What do our Early Learning Coaches do?
- provide free, regular, family-centred home visiting
- connect families with appropriate specialists and supports in the community.
- use the family's knowledge and experience to provide individualized and appropriate planning and support.
- support the family to provide teaching and learning experiences through regular play and family routines.
- create a teaching and learning team for children as they transition to school that includes the family, classroom teacher, school-based supports, and other support agencies.

An important part of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division, this ECIP program is also able to support families, teachers, and other school-based professionals to create a strong teaching and learning team for children as they transition to school.
